Cutthroats 9

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Maybe someone with a highly refined ear and an affinity for nit-picking would be able to differentiate between the sounds of Cutthroats 9 and Unsane, but for the rest of us it may be difficult to distinguish between the two. Not that this is a problem if your a fan of the twisted mind of Chris Spencer. Spencer formed Cutthroats 9 after moving to the west coast in the late '90's and picks up right were Unsane left off. The sound is as recognizable as ever: punishing, bruising guitar mixed, distorted vocals, and dark themes. In fact, I'll save myself the time and just point you at my Unsane post from a couple of months ago.

Anyhow, Cutthroats 9 released a full length in 2000 on the defunct Man's Ruin label. A 10" titled Anger Management appeared on Reptilian in 2002. Enjoy...
